Evan M. Kalish, EA
Senior Tax Manager

Evan is our firm’s resident business and personal tax specialist to the music industry. While Evan specializes in all aspects of tax planning, research and income tax return preparation, he is also our “go to” guy in regards to foreign and multistate tax compliance reporting. Evan handles the accounting and tax affairs for musicians, bands, recording studios, producers, engineers, content creators, musical equipment and product manufacturers, independent record labels, and many other music industry professionals.
Evan earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Connecticut in 2010. Before joining FKCo in 2016, he amassed several years of public accounting, tax and consulting experience with the regional CPA firm Saslow, Lufkin & Buggy, which was later acquired by Crowe Horwath LLP, the eighth largest CPA firm in the U.S.
Over the past 15 years, Evan has been involved in all levels of income tax return preparation and tax research for corporations, partnerships, LLCs, sole proprietorships, individuals, estates and trusts. Evan is also an Enrolled Agent with the Internal Revenue Service, which gives him the privilege of representing taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service under audit examination.
Evan resides in Connecticut with his wife Shannon, and the cats, dogs and chickens. Evan has also been an accomplished drummer for most of his life (and, of course, a huge Dave Mathews fan). In his spare time, he plays drums and percussion with various local artists and has been a part of numerous recordings and musical collaborations.
